Meditation teaches us to do and not do with the same detachment. It may be helpful to practice meditation when we learn reiki. When we practice Reiki, it is hard not to want the good for the person we are dealing with. But the art of healing presence is to cultivate compassion in the posting. The intention is to connect the practitioner with Reiki (universal energy of life) that really act in the processing. We have nothing to do ... with detachment. It is a bit out of the way of energy.
